Buy Local Policy

True Blue Locals

The owners of Air Frontier, Geoffrey & Kylie Hunt have been Territorians for many years. Geoffrey moved to the Northern Territory in 1965 and Kylie in 1977. Darwin is home with all six children being born and raised here.

Geoffrey & Kylie have seen the dynamics of the Territory change over the years and acknowledge the absolute importance of supporting each other locally to ensure Territorians remain a positive and thriving community with unlimited opportunities available to each Territorian.

They both recognise the importance of “buy local” giving it their full support and endorsement. Geoffrey has been passionate about buying Australian since his teenage years with the philosophy of “buy Australian or loose Australia”.  Emphasis on supporting “local” wherever possible developed in both Geoffrey & Kylie in later years while running their own businesses and recognising how important it is for their business and the community to not only support Australian business but to support local business and suppliers. This same philosophy has been instilled in their children while family, staff and friends are all encouraged to buy Australian and support Local wherever possible.

Commitment to the Darwin Region

Air Frontier recognises the paramount importance of local support and has developed a policy to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to the Territory “Buy Local”.

Creating Jobs for Locals

By employing residents, the Air Frontier Group can be assured that a significant amount of staff weekly wages will be reinvested into the community by way of accommodation, shopping and social recreational activities.

Training Locally

Air Frontier invest substantial amounts of time and finance into training each year. This training not only improves the Company and its Staff, it also improves the skill set of the Territory. Each time the skill set of one person is increased it presents the possibility of that one person sharing their knowledge and helping others.

Supporting Local Suppliers

The Air Frontier Group has a “buy local first” policy whereby local suppliers are given priority to offer goods and services whenever possible.  The Air Frontier Group recognises quality service, fair pricing and local support to be major contributing factors when working with other local businesses.

Supporting the Community

We understand the importance of “giving back” to the community by way of donations, sponsorship and community participation.  Employees are encouraged to actively partake in local events.  We are strongly committed to community contribution by way of supply, service and funding.
