Piper Pa31-350 Chieftain

               The Piper Pa31-350 Chieftain is a cabin-class, twin-engine aircraft designed and built by Piper Aircraft for the general aviation market. Fitted with two 350hp TIO-540 Lycoming engines, the Chieftain features counter-rotating rotating propellers for improved safety. Targeted at small-scale cargo and feeder liner operations and the corporate market, the aircraft was a success. With its proven track record, the Chieftain continues to prove a popular choice in general aviation, with production running from September 1972 up until 1984.

Air Frontier Piper Chieftain

               The Piper Chieftain is fitted with up to ten seats in total(including pilot seat), or an optional executive layout for up to 7 passengers seated in club configuration. All our Chieftains are fitted with wing lockers for extra baggage space. Air Frontier operate five of this type, with one operating at our Nhulunbuy(Gove) base and the rest operating from our Darwin base. 

               The Chieftain can be configured for passenger and/or cargo transport. All our Chieftains are fitted with wing lockers for extra baggage and cargo space. The Chieftain is a very capable freighter aircraft, with passenger seats easily removed to convert the aircraft to a cargo configuration. With double doors located behind the wing, bulky freight can easily be accommodated. This aircraft can accommodate any and all types of freight including bulky items, dangerous goods, live animals, regular freight, essential freight for emergency situations, and more.
